Elemental : The Eurasian and North American Tectonic Plates

Photographs of my son’s adventure to Iceland. He dived down to, and was able to touch the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates.

Boulders that have fallen from the sides litter the floor.

The ocean floor continues to drop down into the abyss and the walls close in.
Eurasia to the left, North America to the right.

  1. Overwhelmingly amazing, what wonderful photographs! That must have been a fabulous experience for your son, Alan. ‘To boldly go … ‘ springs to mind. The colours are superb, especially in the first photo.

  2. how so very kewl i dove frum like 1968 till the mid 80’s in southern cali an mexico was a blast! to experience 🙂 a fun sport indeeD! 🙂 lotsa great memories frum down under 🙂 now my newer memories are frum above lol.. ❤ luv ur pics….i used to do underwater photography many years ago 🙂 very cool stuff keep on keepin on 🙂 Q

    1. I’m not sure what the water’s like in California etc. but they had to use thermal dry suits for this dive. Ocean temperatures 1-2 Centigrade, 35-36 Fahrenheit.
