Where’s my backpack-Travel theme: Primary Colours

To commemorate the start of the first world war the Tower of London, between August and November 2014, displayed 888,246 red poppies, one for each allied person who died.

In November 2014 the collection was taken down, divided into smaller groups and displayed all around the UK.

I saw the display at St George’s Hall in Liverpool, and the sight of the cascade was quite powerful. I am composing a post about this, using one particular photograph and changing the colour of the poppies to reflect on different aspects of the piece.

This will be published soon, however the Primary Colours post by Ailsa gives me the opportunity to show you the photographs a bit sooner.
